Jagazine

Horror fans - be sure to pick up the July issue of Jagazine (www.jagazineonline.com) and support a great alternative magazine! Suzi wrote a Top 10 Horror List in this very issue, sure to resonate well with you horror mavens. What is Jagazine, you might ask? Here, I stole this from their official website:
N. (1) An experiment in magazine production hellbent on creating an alternative community of intelligent thought and social discussion among a media-saturated world. (2) Something tangible in a digital age. (3) A combination of the words "jagged" and "magazine". Rough; not clean cut.
V. also see: jaga, jaggin (1) to contribute to the experimental nature of Jagazine's form and content. (2) Daring, caring to share. (3) To provide intelligent, analytic, critical, humorous, and relevant content for the advancement of other readers and the society Jagazine hopes to create.
Enjoy!

Release date and premiere set for L.A. Guns singer Phil Lewis' film debut - trailer and artwork available
Yellow Ape Productions have announced the premiere of JIM HAGGERTY'S WITCHMASTER GENERAL, the new supernatural thriller starring Phil Lewis - lead singer of the legendary rock group L.A. Guns. The movie will be released April 20 at a gala premiere at the Bellmore Theater in Long Island, New York - the night after L.A. Guns rock Long Island playing their classic album 'Cocked and Loaded' in it's entirety at the Crazy Donkey in Farmingdale. Phil and many of the cast will be in attendance to see this exciting new movie in it's big screen debut.
Alongside Lewis in the film are B-movie scream queen Suzi Lorraine, Vic Martino of 'The Sopranos,' Tatyana Kot, Charlie Parshley, and gorgeous Playboy Playmate Colleen Marie, who also makes her film debut.
Lewis plays Dr. Gorgon, a charming but sinister witch-doctor who uses his evil powers - as well as his close personal relationship with Satan - to run a sort of 'murder-for-hire' business. A tough-as-nails cop (Martino) and the county coroner (Bud Stafford of GRAVE DANGER) are hot on his trail, but are no match for the power he possesses or the evil he unleashes upon them.
"The film is a nice mix of great old-fashioned haunted house horror and all the sex, violence, and dark humor we've come to expect these days," says filmmaker Jim Haggerty of his fourth feature film. "It's kind of like an old Vincent Price movie on acid."
As a longtime fan of L.A. Guns, Haggerty is extremely delighted to have the opportunity to work with one of his musical heroes. "I have always been such a fan of Phil in L.A. Guns. He was - and really still is - such an exciting performer with such great charisma and talent on top of an amazing voice. He really was the right man for the job and it was an honor and a pleasure to work with him on this - I'm already writing the sequel!"
You can check out the trailer at this location:

A rough version of the DVD artwork is attached.
Information on pre-ordering the DVD can be found at www.yellowapeproductions.net
The premiere will take place at the Bellmore Movies at 222 Pettit Avenue in Bellmore, NY at 8PM and is open to the public. Admission is $10. The film is unrated, but does contain profanity, graphic violence, and nudity, so no one under 17 will be admitted. An after-party will take place at Willie McBride's one block away at 101 Bedford Avenue in Bellmore, NY. There will be free food, drink specials, and karaoke. Free admission to the after party with your ticket stub!

SEA OF DUST WINS BEST PICTURE
Rhode Island International Film Festival
Honors Unique Fantasy Film
New York, New York – SEA OF DUST is proud to announce its receipt of the Best Picture Award from the prestigious Rhode Island International Horror Film Festival (RIIFF). Considered "one of the Top 10 Short and International Film Festivals in the United States" by Film Threat editor Chris Gore, the RIIFF featured SEA OF DUST as its keystone Saturday night projection.
SEA OF DUST is a "surreal and bizarre tribute to the European horror cinema of the 1960s" starring genre icons Tom Savini (FROM DUSK TIL DAWN, GRINDHOUSE) and Ingrid Pitt (THE VAMPIRE LOVERS, COUNTESS DRACULA) in the tale of an other-worldly evil that threatens to possess humanity. The film features the contributions of Stuart "Multiple Miggs" Rudin (SILENCE OF THE LAMBS) and venerated musician Stephen Malkmus (PAVEMENT).
RIIFF marked SEA OF DUST's American premiere. The Best Picture honor capped a Halloween season during which the film appeared at festivals in England and The Netherlands.
SEA's Director, Scott Bunt, attended the RIIFF screening, along with cast members Edward X Young, Suzi Lorraine, John Correll, Darby Totten, and Kenneth Robert Marlo. Following the projection, the group participated in an animated Q&A session with audience members.
Also in attendance was K Patrick Malone, award winning author of "Inside a Haunted Mind" and "The Digger's Rest." Malone's four-star Horror-Web review compares SEA OF DUST to "a comfort food "... filled with fun, laughs, gore and a message... (SEA) offers us baby boomers/post baby boomers a retro place in our collective psyches where we can settle in and be comforted with a nice big box of popcorn and remember what it was like to be a kid again." The entire text is available at www.horror-web.com.
Malone's review was but the latest in a series that lauded the film for its "wonderfully strange" construction. The New York Daily News even added SEA OF DUST to its list of "Twenty Scariest Horror Movies of All Time."
Visit the film's official site (www.seaofdust.com) to see why critics are calling this retro-satire everything from "creatively rich and wonderful" to "surreal and disturbing." SEA is truly "a one of a kind film, as there is nothing else out there that is remotely similar to this" (Gorezone Magazine, UK).

Suzi Lorraine and Playboy's Colleen Marie join the cast of L.A. Guns singer's film debut!!
B-movie queen Suzi Lorraine and Playboy Playmate Colleen Marie will be co-starring alongside L.A. Guns singer Phil Lewis in his feature film debut 'Witchmaster General' which is being readied for a late 2008/early 2009 release.
The horror film from maverick indie horror maven Jim Haggerty ('I Dream of Dracula,' 'The Slasher') will feature Lorraine as a cruel and unfaithful wife and Marie as a touch-talking bartender who warms up to the hard-boiled cop trying to stop the evil Dr. Gorgon, played by Lewis.
"We've been really lucky - not only with Phil but with these lovely ladies. They're not only beautiful, but they're both really talented actresses with a lot of onscreen charisma," Haggerty says.
Lorraine, a veteran of more than 30 movies within the genre - including 'Spiderbabe,' and 'Torment' - and writer for Gorezone, was charming both on screen and on the set.
"It was an honor and a privilege to work with Suzi - she really is the best at what she does. Hands down the best of the current crop of scream queens, she's a total professional and such a sweet girl. It blew me away how she could muster that mean streak for (her character) Delia. Delia's kind of a bitch and somehow Suzi was able to bring that out - and not in a real Joan Crawford, over-the-top kind of way, very subtle and understated. She's great."
In addition to being the film debut for L.A. Guns singer Phil Lewis, 'Witchmaster General' is also the debut of gorgeous 2003 Playboy Playmate Colleen Marie and Haggerty was truly impressed with her performance - especially since this was her maiden voyage.
"I am frankly amazed and what a great actress Colleen was. We all knew she was beautiful, but could she act? Yes - absolutely. She came in totally prepared and really did her homework. I ran lines with her over the phone beforehand, and any suggestions I made she really took to heart and came in as (her character) Rose. She was just so natural, and on target - I barely had to give her any direction on set, she was truly that good. I don't know if she's interested in pursuing acting full-time or if this was just a lark, but she should certainly do more. I loved working with her and really hope I have the opportunity to again."
Of course the real star of the film is Phil Lewis of the legendary rock band L.A. Guns - famous for their hits "The Ballad of Jayne," "Rip and Tear," "Sex Action," and "Never Enough" who continue to thrive on the concert circuit supporting their recent smash hit 'Tales From The Strip'. Haggerty was not only honored to have one of the musical heroes of his youth in the film, but delighted at how good he was.
'Growing up listening to L.A. Guns and being a longtime fan of Phil's, it was so amazing to have the opportunity to work with him and have him be the star of my film. And what's really great is he's an amazing actor, a complete professional and a perfect gentleman. He was always kind, considerate, and dedicated to what we were doing. There was not a hint of ego - he really was ready to go to any lengths to make the scenes work and nail everything exactly how I wanted it.'
'And Phil's performance was a joy to behold. It amazed us all that he really hasn't done very much acting before. I think every single actor and crew person on set had to ask me if he'd done this before because he was so good. Casting Phil as Dr. Gorgon is one of the best decisions I've ever made.'
Photos of Lewis, Lorraine, and Marie both from the film and behind the scenes can be viewed here:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/25292700@N07/sets/72157604373940765/
The film - which also stars Vic Martino, Charlie Parshley, Jae Mosc, and Tatyana Kot - will see the light of day sometime in late 2008/early 2009 after Haggerty's highly anticipated 'Grave Danger' (which stars another Playboy Playmate - the legendary Miss August 1982 Cathy St. George) is released this Summer (official website: www.miracles4less.com )
'We've got more stuff to shoot... for 'Witchmaster General' and we're in post-production for 'Grave Danger' right now. That should be out by the Summer and then 'Witchmaster' should get out the last quarter of this year or first quarter of next year. We're looking for distributors now. We have to move it along fast because I'm already gearing up to write 'Witchmaster General 2'!' Haggerty says.

Suzi Screams!
The newest feature from LiveSciFi.com goes LIVE and interactive February 2008 with sexy Scream Queen Suzi Lorraine.
Suzi Lorraine is the quintessential blonde bombshell. Well, not exactly. She IS blonde. Sure, she's a model, having graced the print campaigns of Nike, Mercedes, Electric Lingerie, Tosca Olive Oil, and more. Scream Queen? You bet. She's larger than life in The Night They Returned, She Demons of the Black Sun and so many more you'd need a chainsaw to pare the list down into digestible chunks. But this is a bombshell with a business degree. Besides managing an incredibly hectic career, she's a prolific writer with columns in Horror Mania, Gorezone, and Insomnia magazines.
Now we've got her! And we're pumped.
Suzi Screams on Livescifi.com will be Suzi's latest addition to her already chaotic calendar of modeling, acting, writing, traveling, training, and, oh yeah, being the sexy Genre Babe* everyone loves to love.
Suzi will be with us every other week in an interactive event. Besides writing about what's on her mind, Suzi will be answering your questions about movies, special FX, acting, casting, co-stars, working in "the biz", and whatever else you can think up. And this won't be a testosterone-only zone. Suzi is always ready to provide a woman's unique point of view for questions from female participants.
Live Chats with Suzi will also be scheduled frequently to give registered members unprecedented access to one of the hottest talents in the genre biz.
Send in your questions for Suzi Lorraine NOW. Use the contact form at LiveSciFi.com or call (941) 234-4773.
*Genre Babe? We're looking for a title for Suzi that better encompasses her talents in all areas, the way Scream Queen does for her Horror work. Send in your suggestions. We're setting some prizes aside for the person who comes up with something better than Genre Babe. Or, tell us you like Genre Babe and we'll stick with it.
